FAQ's

Do you accept my Insurance?

CSSM is a direct care practice. You will be responsible for paying for your visit the day you receive services. You will get a superbill at the end of each visit. You can submit your claims to your insurance directly and get some or all of your visit covered. This allows us to see you in a timely manner and get you the treatment you need immediately. We will gladly assist you with insurance claims. There is an app that you can download called Reimbursify.

What is Direct Care?

Direct Primary Care (DPC) and Direct Specialty Care (DSC) have become popular amongst physicians recently. Physicians want to treat their patients quickly and efficiently. Insurance companies have become a barrier to proper health care in some instances. Physician offices need to employ several administrative positions to keep up with the ever changing regulations. In the DPC model, your Primary Care Physician will charge you a membership fee for the entire year. You get immediate access to your physician. The DSC model is very similar however you pay for services as you need them.

I had several injections, but I am still in pain?

At Concierge Spine and Sports Medicine we try to help as much as we can. There are times in which we are unable to provide the pain relief you are looking for. Pain is very complicated and there could be several reasons to why you are not getting better. We encourage you to take a holistic view of your lifestyle. Take a look at your nutrition, mindset, and movement. We always encourage you to get a second opinion.

What Causes Back Pain?

The human spine is a complex structure of bones supported by muscles, nerves, ligaments, and tendons. The segments of our spine are cushioned with cartilage-like pads called discs. Injuries or dysfunctions with any of these components can lead to back pain.

Back pain can come from a traumatic injury or develop into a chronic condition over time, lasting for months or even years. Chronic back pain can cause long-term restrictions in your overall mobility and quality of life.

  • Causes of Upper and Middle Back Pain
Discomfort in the upper and mid back pain is commonly caused by overuse, muscle strain, injury, poor posture or herniated discs.
  • Causes of Lower Back Pain
Problems in the lower back can be caused by a variety of injuries and imbalances in the complex structure of the spine. Many people experience a low back injury from improper lifting techniques or after sitting with an excessive arch in the low back. Nerve entrapment and muscular imbalances in the hips can also contribute to low back pain. These issues often develop into painful conditions like sciatica.
Can losing weight help reduce back pain?

So many of us suffer from back pain at some stage of our life. The back muscles take a lot of the weight of the human body, and we are constantly using those muscles. It has been proven though that losing weight can really help with a bad back. As the less excess weight your body carries then the less work and strain it will be putting on your back.

What is a Superbill?

A superbill is a detailed document that allows clients to bill their insurance company directly. It includes information similar to an insurance claim form, such as the date of the service provided, procedure codes and a total balance due. Superbills provide all the information an insurance company needs to create a healthcare claim. Clients who submit superbills to their insurance companies can potentially get reimbursed for services.
